It’s a shame that a good will trip was ruined by an overgrown superstar trying to rap badly to a bad rap song.
Thank you Dwight Howard for wasting my time.
After Dwight Howard and Josh Powell finished up a bus trip to Bama helping those affected by violent tornadoes, they decided to leave the on a sour note.
They cued the music, and Dwight Howard fumbled through the words looking as confused as he does in the low post during crucial playoff games.
Of course Howard shows us all that he is one of the most colorful personalities in the NBA, but clearly memorizing the lyrics to songs isn’t a strong suit or looking coordinated or developing a mid-range jump shot or tipping a block to a teammate.
Of course just because I can memorize the lyrics to a rap song doesn’t make me any better.
I have the swagger of a tax accountant and the style of that tax accountants elderly grandmother (yes, I do know what a girdle is and I may or may not wear one for support).
I appreciate Howard’s spirit. If he were that animated when it counts, the Magic might have fared better the last couple of years.
Perhaps his biggest sin was the song choice. He clearly didn’t know the words and the song doesn’t have mainstream appeal. Perhaps his next bus ride will come with a little more preparation in his song choice.
